Every now and then we hear about scams and corruption. In India, corruption is definitely the hottest and most controversial topic to discuss. Indian films have also found this topic of great interest giving us some interesting films based on this theme.
Recently ‘Officer Arjun Singh IPS – Batch 2000’ was announced with actor Priyanshu Chatterjee playing the lead in this action-cop-drama film.
The announcement was followed by the trailer and music launch of the film. The entire cast and crew of the film and other members of the film fraternity were present at the event.
The film is a depicition of the life of IPS officer Arjun Singh, who holds a metaphorical depiction of an ideal cop and more precisely an ideal citizen. Talking about his character in the film, Priyanshu said, “My character in the film is a cop who is very sensitive at the same time daring and honest. The film is about how he fights with the system to give justice to one family. The message which we are trying to give through this film is that dishonesty cannot win against the truth. It tells that eventually Truth alone triumphs no matter what the situation is.”
When asked Priyanshu what makes his upcoming film different from previous cop films, he said, “It’s very raw, rustic and realistic sort of a film. I loved the script of the film. I loved the experience of working with the entire team. It is the first time I am playing role of a police officer so, working in this film was a new and fantastic experience for me.”
Sharing his experience working with Govind Namdev and Vijay Raaz in the film, Priyanshu said, “It was fantastic and amazing working with all of them , outside the film characters the entire bunch of actors shared great camaraderie and had a lot of fun during the shooting of the the film.”
The music of the film seems very catchy given that one of the songs also sung by Tochi Raina who has given us previous hits like ‘Kabira’ and ‘ Saibo‘. The tracks are melodious and hummable. Tochi gave a resounding live performance of his songs.

The film is written and directed by Arshad Siddiqui. It scheduled to hit the screens on 18th October 2019.
